Roadrunner Lodge Motel Policies

Check-In/Check-Out

Check-in runs 4 PM–9 PM Mountain Time. Rolling in after 9 PM? Call us at 575.282.RT66 between 4 PM and 9 PM on arrival day and we’ll set you up.

Check-out is 10 AM. When possible, we can stretch it to 11 AM for a $10 convenience fee. Early arrivals and late departures depend on occupancy and housekeeping magic—thanks for understanding when we just can’t swing it.

Animals

We dig dogs. Up to three of them—combined weight 180 lbs or less—are welcome in our dog-friendly rooms. Fees are simple: $29 + tax for the first dog, $9 each for the others.

For everyone’s comfort and safety, pups sleep inside with you. No camping in cars, trailers, or under the stars overnight. Dogs must stay under your control anywhere outside the room.

Only dogs, please. No cats, ferrets, feathered friends, or reptiles on this ride.

Take a spin by the fenced, grassy dog run. It’s double-gated for easy and secure in-and-out! And use the waste station so we all keep it tidy. Bring an undeclared animal and you’ll see a $250 charge per critter, plus any cleanup or damage costs. Just give us the heads-up instead.

Service Animals

Roadrunner Lodge Motel follows all federal, state, and local laws. A Service Animal (SA) under the Americans with Disabilities Act is a dog individually trained to perform specific work or tasks for a person with a disability. Service Animals stay free of pet fees.

Service Animals must remain under the handler’s control at all times—leash, harness, or reliable voice command. Animals providing emotional support, comfort, companionship, or therapy aren’t recognized as Service Animals under the ADA and fall under our regular dog policy and fees.

Misrepresenting an animal as a Service Animal is a criminal offense in New Mexico (§ 28-11-6 NMSA 1978).

Need pet amenities in a Service Animal room? Just ask. We skip them by default to keep working dogs focused, but we’re happy to oblige.

Thanks for keeping it cool and courteous. We look forward to hosting you, and your four-legged co-pilot(s), on Route 66.

Smoking/Vaping/Scents/Open Flames

No smoking or vaping inside rooms, on balconies, or along covered walkways—tobacco, cannabis, all of it. Step at least three feet from the building and you’re in the clear. And as a courtesy to other guests, stand downwind, please.

Strong smells linger like a bad jingle. Please skip essential oils, heavy perfumes, incense, plug-ins, and diffusers (even if only “cold air” comes out). If we have to deodorize the room like we do for smoke, a $500 restoration fee may apply.

Open flames and hot gadgets are a hard no: candles, grills, hot plates, crockpots, electric skillets—anything that cooks, burns, or smolders. Vintage décor and fire don’t mix. Need to heat something? The microwave in the canteen will do the trick.

Cancellations/Modifications

We’re a cozy, limited-inventory motor lodge. When that last room is gone, it’s gone! If your plans change, give us a shout as early as you can, ideally by 4 PM Mountain Time at least 48 hours before your arrival day. After that, late-cancel/no-show fees apply. When the free-cancel window closes, we place an authorization on the card on file for the full stay.

Changes after the cutoff may incur a charge equal to the first night’s room rate (plus any pet fees and taxes) and no-shows are always charged. Life throws curveballs; we get it. If you’re running late or need to cancel last minute, let us know. We’ll pop your room back on the market and, if someone grabs it, we’ll waive the fee. No promises, but we try to do right by our guests.

Privacy Policy

You’ll find our current privacy policy right here. Short version: we use your info to run the motel, not to bug you.

Thank you!

Thanks for rolling with our policies. They keep the experience sharp, the rooms spotless, and the vibe pure 1964. We can’t wait to welcome you to Tucumcari!
